Calculate your walking pace, speed, and estimated calories burned. Free walking pace calculator with formula, examples, and FAQ.
The walking pace calculator determines your walking speed, pace, and estimated calories burned based on the distance you walked and the time it took. Walking is one of the simplest and most accessible forms of exercise, and tracking your pace helps monitor fitness progress and set activity goals.
Pace (min/km) = Time (minutes) / Distance (km)
Speed (km/h) = Distance / Time (hours)
Calories ≈ MET × Weight(kg) × Time(hours)Pace is the time per unit distance. Speed is distance per unit time. Calories burned are estimated using MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) values, which vary by walking speed: slow walking ≈ 2.0 MET, moderate ≈ 3.5 MET, brisk ≈ 4.3 MET, and very brisk ≈ 5.0 MET. The calorie estimate assumes a 70 kg person.
