The brick calculator helps you estimate the number of bricks needed for a wall. It accounts for standard brick sizes with mortar joints and includes a waste factor for breakage. Standard bricks are 8×2.25×3.5 inches, while modular bricks are slightly different.
Bricks = Wall Area (sq ft) × Bricks Per Sq Ft | With Waste = Bricks × 1.05Standard bricks (8×2.25×3.5") with 3/8" mortar joints yield about 5.76 bricks per sq ft for a single-wythe wall. Modular bricks yield about 6.85 per sq ft. A 5% waste factor accounts for breakage and cutting.
